Our Horses

We love each and every one of our horses for their unique spirit and character. We make sure that they are happy and well cared for. We use the gentle techniques of Parelli Natural Horsemanship using love, language and leadership that fosters a relationship of trust and respect. We pay particular attention to the Parelli “Horsenalities” which helps us to understand our horses particular character traits so that we can be the best human we can be for our horses. You will love playing with and riding any of our eleven beautiful Costa Rican horses. Ibero Americanos, Criollo y Costaricense de Paso of all horsenalities and various levels of Parelli training.

Horses can be left brain or right brain or introverterd or extroverted. This system developed by Linda Parelli,  helps us to  match you to a horse that is perfect for you. We hope that you will enjoy them as much as we do.

Silky was my first horse in Costa Rica and the first horse I had ever owend. Given to me by my neighbor when we first came to Costa Rica in 2003 to get around the small mountain village where we were living. It was with her that I began my natural horsemanship journey.

Chief joined us in February 2012. He is 7 years old and an eager partner. He is lea left brain / right brain extrovert. He is very smart and is learning the games at a very rapid rate. He is very responsive under saddle and is a natural for freestyle riding.

When we aquired Beauty in Oct 2012 she was abandoned and starving. She has made a good recovery although she is still on the thin side. We have been delighted with her responsiveness and eagerness to join us on trail rides. She is just being introduced to natural horsemanship and she is a fast learner.

Lincoln joined us in February 2012. Lincoln is a quarter horse/ criollo mix and a left brain introvert. He is slow, steady and strong. Perfect for our larger beginner riders. He was a cow pony for years and is being introduced to natural horsemanship and he can’t believe that humans can actually communicate!

Sox is a left brain introvert. He is couragous on the trail yet meek in the paddock. Soic and strong he is a great addition to all our trail rides. He is playing at level 2.

I bought Linda with her mother Paloma when she was 3 days old. SHe is a left brain introvert. She was started with Parelli. She is calm, gentle and thoughtful. She is playing level 3 games. She is a wonderful partner and a great teacher for me.

Noel was born on the farm, to Paloma, on Christmas day. Raised with Parelli and lots of love she is friendly and curious about every one and every thing. Light on her feet and brave on the trail she is lots of fun. She is a left brain extrovert playing level 2.

This is Beau, our 10 year old Criollo gelding. He is a right brain extrovert. He has very gentle manners and loves people. He is playing at level 2. He is handsome and energetic and all the girls love him!

Our 12 year old Criollo mare Paloma is light on her feet and very sensitive. She is a left brain / right brain extrovert and loves to play on line and at liberty. She is playing at level 2/3. She is strong and athletic and loves to ¨go¨on the treks to the beach.
